Americans eat out more frequently than ever before. What is even worse is that their portions of food are also getting larger while the food becomes more and more processed. The result of all of these things mixing together is that Americans are becoming more overweight each year. Low carb dieting can be healthy and satisfying. If you remove refined carbohydrates (like sugars, sweeteners or refined flour) from your diet, the diet will be healthier and so will you. And by replacing your refined carbohydrates with high quality carbs (while reducing your intake of starchy carbs like bread and potatoes), you will lose weight in the process.

Before you proceed with the new low carb diet, you will want to consult your physician. Your doctor can instruct you on what things to avoid and possibly refer you to a nutritionist who might assist you with food selection. Once you have decided on your plan of attack, you can then proceed with eliminating all of the process and refined sugar products along with all of your starchy carbohydrate foods. Go through the house and eliminate temptation before starting your new diet and it will help you kick start your weight loss.
